August 2009: All About Eve

All About Eve

Location: Brandon Fradd Theatre, Whyte Hall

Link out: Click here

Description: Join the famed drag legend — not to mention actor, playwright, novelist, and director — Charles Busch in a reading of All About Eve, the classic, Oscar-winning story (who could forget Bette Davis as Margo?)

Charles will share the stage with fellow actors to depict the unforgettable tale of an ingenue as she insinuates herself in to the company of an established but aging stage actress and her circle of theatre friends.

“Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night!”

Paper Dolls

Paper Dolls

I played Isabel in the play Paper Dolls. About the play:

Claire Cunningham loves to dish the dirt – until she gets dirty. With her movie star brother, conniving assistant, and a mysterious stranger, she’s about to rock the pages of the New York tabloids …

Then a nasty bit of news changes everything …

Will Claire’s steamy sex life hit the front page? … Cue the entrance of a mysterious stranger, Isabel, who knows just a little big too much about everyone, and this summer the heat will be in the headlines.

Die Mommie Die!

According to Die Mommie Die! author Charles Busch:

Ex-pop singer, Angela Andrews, is trapped in a hateful marriage with film producer Sol Sussman. Desperate to find happiness with her younger lover, an out of work TV actor, Tony Parker, Angela murders her husband with the aid of a poisoned suppository.  In a plot that reflects Greek tragedy as well as Hollywood kitsch, Angela’s Elektra-like daughter, Edith, convinces Angela’s emotionally disturbed son, Lance, that they must avenge their father’s death by killing their mother.
